Every year again attracts the techno Classica vintage and classic car fans on the grounds of Messe Essen. This year open the doors from 6 to April 10, 2016. More than 25 brands, 200 brand clubs and 1,250 exhibitors received over 190,000 visitors in the five days. Especially the bridge between past and present is this time the focus of the fair. Time, we have summarized what to expect so in Essen.
Mercedes-Benz with large stand
The classic Division of Mercedes-Benz put the largest trade fair appearance. Just 11 modern and classic cars will be seeing one at the stand in Hall. The oldest model was constructed in 1934. The Mercedes exhibition is 2016 under the motto "Convertibles and Roadster" and shows therefore in addition to treasures such as the 300 SL convertible Roadster, for example, the new S-class. Also to see: Mercedes 500 K Special Roadster, Mercedes 500 K cabriolet, Mercedes 170 S cabriolet, Mercedes 300 SL racing sports car, Mercedes 300 S Roadster, Mercedes 280 SE cabriolet, Mercedes 190 E 2.6 cabriolet prototype, the new Mercedes c-class convertible, the new Mercedes S-class cabriolet and the new Mercedes SL.
Alfa racing tradition
Also, Alfa Romeo is represented by numerous models. The Italians show many models from the sports past of the mark in addition to the new Giulia in the Quadrifoglio-top facilities. Also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Alfa Romeo spider. In addition to the open car and the Alfa Romeo 1900 by 1950 following exhibits at the fair are represented: the racing homologation models Giulia 1600 TI Super, Giulia Sprint GTA and 75 Turbo Evoluzione and the winning car of the touring car championship of 2001, 156 D2.
Audi with unique
On the Audi stand there to admire a small but fine collection of rarities. The Quattro Spyder in 1991 presented at the IAA unfortunately never made it beyond the prototype status. The mid-engined vehicle with an unladen weight of just 1,100 kilograms should be offered for under 100,000 Deutsche mark. This price was however not realized. A month after the Quattro Spyder the Ingolstädter at the Tokyo Motor Show presented the gleaming Avus quattro with a 509-HP W12 engine. Here it remained at an exhibit. The Audi was planned as a competition vehicle s group The mid-engined rally car should dominate the World Rally Championship in the newly created Group S in 1987. The new class should replace the legendary group B. Audi however withdrew after a fatal accident in the World Rally Championship and the Group S ended up forever in the Museum.
BMW vehicles from 100 years ago
The Munich car manufacturer BMW, who incidentally 2016 celebrates the 100th anniversary of the brand, is present with a great showing at the fair. The vehicle selection ranges from the BMW 326 convertible from the 1930s about a BMW 502 "Baroque Angel" from the post-war period, a sedan of the "new class" and a BMW M1 up to the future-oriented sports car BMW i8. Also celebrated 50 years 2002 BMW. A plane in 1927, which is equipped with a BMW radial engine hovers over the exhibits.
Abarth to VW
In addition to the previously mentioned great stands there to discover also all sorts of things in smaller exhibitions.
