Opel highlights 'eight newcomers for 2020'

Yesterday let Opel know that by 2020 eight new or redesigned models in its portfolio. Today there is more known about it.

Opel placed yesterday a teaservideo on its social channels that the brand once again let know that in the long term, with a fully electric version of the Corsa on the come up. In total it should autoland around 2021 acquainted with eight new or redesigned models. The brand also let know that the new Corsa, which is based on French (e)CMP-reads, the next year is presented. The all-electric version will follow, as we already knew a year later but will be starting in the summer of 2019 to order.

In 2020, not only of the electric Nova, but also a completely new Mocha X. That car remains a cross-over which is what positioning between the Crossland X and the Grandland X. We aim to ensure that the Opel GT X Experimental Concept which earlier this year was presented more or less vooruitblikt on the appearance of this new Mokka X. Of that Mocha X expects Opel, there is much. The car should be according to the brand play a big role in the increase of the verkoopaandeel of cross-overs 2021 have increased from 25 to 40 percent. Opel let it know that the new Vivaro as soon as next year on the market, a van a year later, also as EV.

More models coming up? Sure. Opel will come with a plug-in hybrid variant of the Grandland X and still has a gefacelift Insignia on the role. Or also the Astra is still gefacelift, remains to be seen. It is not inconceivable that Opel that car as fast as possible to get familiar with the EMP2-technology of PSA to save costs. In its strategy for the future Pace! let Opel already know that the end of 2020 four electrified versions on his price list. From 2024 needs of each Opel an electrified variant available.

So far the good news, but unfortunately there is also bad news. Opel says that the Adam, Karl and Cascada no successor and the end of 2019 all of them must all say goodbye to having autoland. That the Cascada would disappear, we knew that already. That the Adam no successor, it is somewhat logical to call given the huge success of that funky bird. That Karl is no longer being updated, is remarkable. The compact city car scores namely not bad at all in the statistics. The basis of the car is, however, entirely to General Motors, a company where Opel farewell had to take. It is located in the line of expectation that Opel in the long term a Karl-successor to his line-up, adding that based on the next generation of the Peugeot 108, Citroën and Toyota Aygo.
