A small SUV below the Karoq as a design study
Mlada Boleslav (Czech Republic), 1. February 2018
With the design study Vision X Skoda is a view of a small SUV. Premiere of the concept car at the Geneva motor show (8. to 18. March 2018). From the big brother Karoq the car takes the two-storey arrangement of the front lights. The headlights, however, are slit-like, the fog lights including greater than Karoq. A big part of the brand is highlighted typical shaped Grill. Added to that is hook-shaped elements framing the lower air intake on the left and the right.
A lot in Common with the Seat of Arona
The side view and the black painted roof is strongly reminiscent of the Seat of Arona, with the new Skoda many parts (and the platform MQB-A0) is likely to have. The side sills are highlighted in the case of the Skoda-study, however, is even stronger. The huge 20-inch wheels will probably be replaced by smaller wheels, if it goes to series production. At the rear, split lights such as the front of two units. Also the front and rear, there is a (probably as an optical accessory imaginary) underride protection.
Apparently, as a Plug-in Hybrid
More interesting than the exterior, the interior design is, as here, Skoda explored new paths. A wide and low console with a very small automatic gear-shift lever separates the front seats from each other. In the middle of the dashboard, there is a large, free-standing Infotainment Display in the wide format. The dashboard is filled with illuminated elements made of cut crystal glass, the atmospheric light effects. The instruments seem to be as a Display to run. To drive Skoda says only that it is a "hybrid study". It is likely to be a Plug-in Version joins the well-known Arona engines. This fits into the picture, because Skodas "strategy 2025" by 2025, in addition to purely electrically powered cars and Plug-in Hybrid vehicles. Then 25 percent of the world's sold Skodas on a Plug should have-in Hybrid or a pure electric drive.
As Skoda Polar 2019?
The final name and to the market introduction of the Skoda makes no details yet. According to industry rumors, the car should be hot, however, Polar and 2019 on the market. With approximately 4,15 metres in length, it will compete against vehicles such as the Kia Stonic, Renault Captur, Citroen C3 Aircross, Peugeot 2008, Opel Crossland X, and the like. A further possibility of comparison could arise in the Premiere in Geneva if at the VW Stand is the expected "Polo-SUV" called T-Cross, as we expect.(sl)
