The Ford Focus Electric is powered purely by the current version of the compact car, which the American company had unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in 2011. Since autumn 2011, the Ford Focus Electric cars can be found on the streets, almost totally silent and with zero emissions. Primarily, this electric car acts in response to the Opel Ampera and hybrid vehicles like the Toyota Prius or Honda Insight. The Ford Focus Electric will be powered by an electric motor which is placed in the rear powered by lithium - ion batteries. The force is transmitted via an input gear directly to the front wheels. With fully charged batteries, the Ford Focus Electric, a top speed of 136 km / h reached. The range of a new or used Ford Focus Electric without charge should be between 250 and 350 kilometers. To achieve the full charge for the Ford Focus Electric car is enough of a commercial 230 volt outlet. The time frame for charging should be, according to Ford, between three and four hours. The design of the Ford Focus Electric is similar in principle, where its sister models, the lightweight design is only visible to the aluminum wheels, grille and mounting parts.
