Volkswagen T-Roc 'Cabriolet' in the picture

Volkswagen promised earlier, an open version of the T-Roc and today we see the first pictures of it!

At the beginning of this year, Volkswagen made a remarkable announcement. The brand had to know that by the year 2020 with a cabrioletversie of the T-Roc on the balls would come. Although Volkswagen in the past years maintained that the study models as the T-Cross Breeze and the T-Roc Concept vooruitblikte on new dense cross-overs, turns out there really is an open variant of such a hoogpotig model in the offing. How the car is going to be called, is unclear. It is of course possible that Volkswagen is the addition of 'Breeze' of the 2016 legacy concept car to incorporate it into the production version.

The open T-Roc will lose two doors compared to the dense model that we already know. The car may Volkswagen to join the small list of manufacturers that dared to have an open SUV. Nissan sold in the United States in 2011 presented Muarno Crosscabriolet and Land Rover has the quirky Range Rover Evoque Convertible in its portfolio. Of course we know open versions of cars like the Mercedes-Benz G-class and Jeep Wrangler, but that fall rather into the category of 'off-roader' than this Volkswagen.

It is striking that Volkswagen with a cabriolet, a carrosserievariant by more and more car manufacturers are on the willows hung. In 2020, the car needs to appear on the market and then acts nicely as a successor to the Beetle Cabrio. The open T-Roc will be built in the former factory of Karmann, who was also responsible for, inter alia, the open versions of the Golf. There could be annual, up to 20,000 open T-Rocs of the tape reels.
