One would think Yes Aston Martin with the shaping of its future, say, to do enough of the introduction of the new flagship DB11. But in Gaydon go-getting than ever before. To build bond cars, announces it new Hypercar in cooperation with Red Bull-F1 icon Adrian Newey and now it shows all along the way even a remarkably extreme, strictly calibrated special version of the V8 Vantage.
The impressive Flash and winged result is called Vantage GT8. The inspiration for the road suitable for hardcore racing comes from the 2016er V8-Vantage-GTE race car, which is used also in Le Mans. The basic ingredients for the GT8 are the same as any sports car which is designed to provide more: more power, less weight, much more downforce. This procedure already known from Aston Martin. The 600 HP strong Vantage GT12, one is quite similar to proceed in 2015. Thus, the GT8 is the little brother of GT12. Significantly weaker, but also significantly lighter, cheaper and, after all, in a somewhat larger quantities available. From the GT12, there were only 100 copies at the unit price of 340,000 euros. The vantage GT8 is built 150 times. The price is 165,000 pounds, which is currently about 208,000 euros.
Two gear of choice
There is a slightly enhanced version of Astons 4.7-liter V8 under the hood of the vantage GT8. 446 HP achieved ten Horsepower more than the vantage S, creates the Sprint from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 4.4 seconds (the vantage makes S 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds) and bring it to 306 km/h top speed. In addition, you have the choice between a seven-speed automated gearbox and a six-speed manual transmission. With a weight of 1,510 kg the GT8 is whole 100 kilos lighter than the vantage of S. The main fault is the almost excessive use of carbon fiber. Include the front splitter, the aprons, side skirts and rear diffuser are made of carbon. Optionally, an Aero Pack is available, providing the additional winglets on the front and the monumental wing at the rear.
A bit of luxury
For 100 kilos less Bacon that is not enough but still long. Therefore, there are also manually adjustable carbon bucket seats, carbon door panels, as well as a lighter lithium-ion battery. If you still knochiger like it, must pay extra. For a carbon roof, a polycarbonate rear window, and a titanium exhaust system, for example. A pure ascetics Streaker has not become by the way still the vantage GT8 of voluntary self-mortification. Aston Martin makes customers at least a 160-Watt sound system, air conditioning and a navigation system.
From the end of 2016
The special treatment for the most special of all V8 Vantage will be rounded off by 19-inch magnesium wheels with central locking, which are covered with sticky Michelin pilot-Cup-2-tyres. There are three proposals on the subject of colour design: China grey and blue, Stratus white and green or Stirling Green and lime.
