Oliver Stefani will be the new chief designer of Skoda

Oliver Stefani is from 1. September 2017 new head of design at Skoda. The 53-Year-old has directed since 2002, the exterior Design of the Volkswagen brand. VW series vehicles in the last ten years, and numerous Concept Cars bear his signature. He was instrumental in the development of the models Up, Polo, Jetta, Tiguan, the current Golf and the ID-show car-family.

Expressive Design is meant to stay

The new Skoda head of design studied Design in Braunschweig, Germany and Pasadena, California. He also worked three years at the Design Center Europe in Sitges, Spain. Skoda chief Bernhard Maier is optimistic: "we are Now starting stage with Oliver Stefani the next development. He will make our cars more emotional, and in the Era of digitization and electrification of the automotive industry. Oliver Stefani has great creative potential. I look forward to working with them."

Stefani replaced Kaban

Oliver Stefani follows Jozef Kaban, who had from February 2008 to February 2017 for the Post of chief designer. Kaban was instrumental in the Design of the Skoda Rapid, Fabia, Octavia, Superb and Kodiaq. Kaban is responsible for, in the meantime, the Design of BMW.(dh)
