You're back. After 17 years, Toyota once again enters the big stage of the World Rally Championship. With baggage: the most aggressive and brutal WRC car that ever existed. Also interesting: The motor sports program to affect also the athletic abilities of the street cars.
380 HP in the monster-Yaris
Having already competition from Hyundai and Ford recently 2017 lifted the veil on their rally cars for the season, we now know which usage device around the four-time World Rally champion Tommi Mäkinen, the Toyota team enters next year at the start. The Yaris WRC is only 4.09 metres long, but looks like a formula 1 car would have mated with a transformers character. Latvala and Hänninen as driver
As a driver for the "Toyota Gazoo racing WRC Team" two Finns Juho Hänninen and Jari-Matti Latvala to go with their respective co-drivers at the start. The fledgling WRC2 champion Esapekka Lappi, who joins from Skoda Toyota acts as a substitute - and test driver. Whether in the course of the season 2017 a third Yaris WRC for Lappi is used, is not yet clear. Planned new sporty top-Yaris
WRC commitment to pay for the street cars for Toyota. So, the Japanese plan to bring a sporty version of the Yaris to market. On a first drawing, a striking color scheme, as well as a small roof spoiler can be seen. The sport variant will serve as the top model in the Yaris range.
