A fullback in American football is the man who struggles with the ball in their hands through the enemy defences. Squeamish are on this post rather wrong that suits the new pick-up by Fiat. "Built for you and your work"
While about VW with the Amarok has also lifestyle ambitions, Fiat aims above all to artisans, gardeners, foresters and syndicate members. Already the slogan shows that: "Built for you and your work". The fullback is already commercially available, but the price list includes only the "launch Edition" and is therefore clear: there is a 2 + 2-seater extended cab and a seater double cab as the only engine option a 181-Horsepower diesel engine, combined with all-wheel drive. The "color palette" consists of white, black and grey. The currently most affordable version, the fullback extended cab LX base launch Edition, 27,500 euros. Cheaper versions are to follow.
Two levels of PS and two byproduct
In the final development stage there is Mitsubishi acquired 2.4 litre turbo diesel with intercooler and variable vane wheel geometry in two versions: with 154 Horsepower and 380 nm of torque or 181 HP and 430 nm. The four-cylinder is combined with a six speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission. There is also a rear - and two different byproduct. In the basic version of SX a four-wheel drive with a 50:50 Rotary rigid power distribution can be switched on the modes there are 2 H (rear wheel drive), 4 H (four-wheel-drive) and 4 L (four-wheel drive with gear reduction).
Rear leaf springs
A permanent all-wheel drive is used in the higher level LX. The power of the engine is "basically on all four wheels from", so Fiat here via a Center differential. Here 4 H and not 2 H is the normal mode, the distribution of power is distributed here electronically and floating on the two axes. In addition, there are still 2 H, 4HLc (all-wheel drive with rigid power distribution of 50:50) and 4HLLc (such as 4HLc but with gear reduction). Optionally, an electronic limited-slip differential for the rear axle is offered for both drive variants. Generally, the fullback has a ladder frame. Front there is an independent suspension with double wishbone suspension, rear provides, however, a typical commercial vehicle axle with leaf springs for resistance that fits to the commercial audience.
5.30 m long
All versions have a wheelbase of just three meters and measure around 5.30 metres in length with small, version-dependent variations. A 1.85 meter long cargo area has the extended cab, double cab due to the larger passenger cabin offers only a 1.52 meter-long loading area. Later still a chassis is added as a third body variant.
Optional with GPS and automatic climate control
The standard equipment includes ABS with brakeforce distribution, trailer stabilisation and lane "up to seven airbags". Cloth seats, leather steering wheel, leather shift knob, CD radio, air conditioning and central locking with radio remote control. Better-equipped versions offer leather seats with heated seats front, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, a 7.0 inch Navi, a rearview camera, a cruise control and dual-zone automatic climate control. The LX with automatic transmission also has paddle shifters on the steering wheel. (sl)
