VW DSI: great expectations

The crisis-hit mark VW wants to put once again positive signs. At the Geneva Auto Show 2017 (March 9-19), the new DSI should provide sensation. Now, there's a small peek at the car.

Sizable optics

The DSI is the successor of the CC, to differentiate themselves not only with a new name from the Passat. Especially in the design, VW wants to make the fastback model positioned above the Passat catcher. Indeed, the first images suggest that study the DSI from the 2015 in Geneva is shown "sports concept Coupé GTE" is different. Here and there the LED headlights blend in with the cross braces of the radiator grille. Also the rear fascia with integrated spoiler finds himself.

Big mouth

As VW at the DSI by a "fastback", the big floating tailgate of the study will probably get this. It competes the DSI with the Audi A5 Sportback and BMW 4 Gran Coupé, both set to the same solution. But they are shorter than the VW itself, since this based on the Coupé GTE 4.87 metres of the sport concept. For comparison: A Passat sedan is ten centimeters shorter. To the engines, not manifests itself yet VW, promises but much head - and legroom on all courses, as well as assistance systems of the latest generation. (rh)
