Compact SUV-VW convertible
Wolfsburg, 29 February 2016
VW is currently very busy working to expand the brand's SUV portfolio. Now, Kamei at the Geneva car show (3 to 13 March 2016) to the SUV-convertible study slightly more exaggerated modern named "T-Cross Breeze".
Slightly longer than a cross Polo
The 1,250 kilograms concept measures slightly more than a cross Polo with 4.13 meters. A large wheelbase and short overhangs are to provide a sporty look. The formal language continues the current VW design as we know it for example by the new Tiguan or the CES vehicle Budd-e.
Typical VW design
VW describes this process as follows: "The brand's distinctive design DNA ensures that each model, even without VW sign, is immediately recognized as a Volkswagen." What evaluates VW of course positive, now but also dangerously close ranks on the "08/15"-design. The wide Grill, the narrow LED headlights with daytime running lights and the Underride Protection made of sand-blasted aluminium: The Tiguan GTE active concept sends his regards. The T-cross breeze has chosen VW for a color combination from "Summer Green Metallic" and "Deep Teal".
With the T-cross breeze in the area?
The anyway it not quite as dynamic-looking overall impression is ultimately ad absurdum from the huge wheels. Anyone wishing to have this setup in the area. And the T-cross breeze should according to VW finally in easy terrain. At least let the plastic fenders like adopted here by the designers and skirts that close, that this must be an off-road model. The freely programmable is also "active info display" equipped with a mode for light off-road, which provides information on road conditions and topography of the driver.
Interesting Interior
After all: The almost switchless operating concept that was already in the Budd-e, could represent an enrichment for the VW series vehicles parking brake and damper setting with its touch-sensitive surface and the by-wire controls for DSG, in future. The "beats" sound system in the T-cross breeze with 300 Watts is already the second collaboration between Volkswagen and the audio companies in the United States. The new VW up! and there's also the Polo now namely also as "beats" version with 300-Watt sound system.
A production version is possible
Depends how much T-cross breeze in the future on the road, is still in the stars. Herbert Diess, Chairman of the VW Board can however hinted that "we absolutely could imagine, to bring such a convertible on the market. A low-cost cars with high suitability for everyday use. A true people car." But please more Beach buggy and less embarrassing wheels. (mf)
