Mégane RS involuntarily reveals more

Before the 12th September at the IAA 2017 in Frankfurt Renault will not reveal the 2018er Renault Mégane RS. And yet, the cat is more or less out of the bag. Now pictures have surfaced that, probably showing a prototype near-production plant in Dieppe.

Large outlets, large wheels

The images were posted as a comment in the French Forum "Clio RS Concept" and show the new Mégane from behind and from the side. There are significant air vents in the rear apron and the front fender to see. We will also see a massive Central tailpipe, black contrasting side mirrors and large two-tone alloy wheels, behind those pretty monumental braking that said. There is no interior pictures so far. We expect but no all to major differences to the cockpit of the Mégane GT, i.e.: a couple of sharp cut Recaro seats, a or other red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, shift lever and co. as well as RS-specific tools.

Probably 300 PS

Details on the oily parts of RS are also in short supply. After all, we know that Renault will offer the new Mégane RS with double clutch and manual transmission. It is believed the rumors, the power is at around the 300 HP are. Possible, that for this a pumped-up version of the new 1.8-liter turbo is used, be debut end of the year in the mid-engined sports are Alpine A110.

Heavily disguised in Monaco

Renault announced 2018 for the first time the Mégane RS at the formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco, by one let go of Renault F1 driver Nico Hülkenberg with a still heavily camouflaged car on the official course. After its premiere in Frankfurt the Mégane 2018 in the first quarter will roll RS to the dealers. While the predecessor merely as a three-door model was available, the new model will only go with five doors at the home.
