Caught: Aston Martin DB11 Volante
Hair, 28 December 2016
In the cold season, it's hard to embrace a convertible and its benefits. Especially if you are in the far north of Scandinavia. Right there, a new top model in front of the lens is awesome but now our Erlkönig photographer. And it seems like you want to prepare at Aston Martin right there on a convertible season.
Drive technology as with the Coupé
As it is not difficult to recognize, the pictures show an open version of DB11, who has since September 2016 as Coupé on the market. Under the hood of the DB9 successor a new V12 Twin-Turbo charging is used. Through the forced ventilation, the aggregate be elicits 608 HP and 700 nm of torque. This power leads an eight speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels. Why these facts and figures are important? Because the convertible with the suffix "Volante" will rely on the same drive technology.
A fabric roof! No weight gain?
The difference to the closed DB11? The highly visible on the recordings of the Erlkönig fabric roof. How quickly it is opening or closing, whether there will be more color than the black to be seen here, and if the pleasure of fresh air only through a weight gain is possible (the Coupé takes it to 1,770 kg), is is not known yet. There is also information about possible performance yet. The Coupé sprints in 3.9 seconds to 100 and reaches a top speed of 322 km/h.
Price and market introduction
We come to the last two variables still to be clarified: the price and the market. The latter is proclaimed (visible by marking on the side of the vehicle) Aston Martin itself. The open DB11 pleasure launches convertible accordingly only after next season in the spring of 2018. And the price? Its predecessor was the price difference between Coupé and Volante at 15,000 euros. Because a DB11 Coupé currently costs 204.900 euro, the Volante starting price is expected to be around 220,000 euros. (ml)
