Ford Orion

The Ford Orion was built in 1983 as a four-door sedan version of the Ford Escort and was first with a 1.3-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 60 hp, a 1.6-liter version with 105 hp and a 1.8 liter diesel engine available with 60 hp. From 1991 models Ford Orion 1.4 i (71 HP), 1.6 i 16V (90 HP), 1.8 i 16V (105 hp) and the 1.8 D diesel variants (60 hp) and 1.8 TD (90 HP) were added. As an equipment variant Ford offered the versions GL, GLX, Ghia, CL, CLX, and STH for the Orion. The Orion was - unusually for a saloon - also available with a rear wiper. In 1993, the Orion name was removed and sold the car from then on under the name Ford Escort. In 1998, production of the Ford Orion (or escort) in favor of a successor Ford Focus.
