Six years are in the automotive industry since a long time: since 2010 the current VW Touareg is on the market. Yet he enjoys in China still great popularity. No wonder that Volkswagen at the auto exhibition in Beijing (April 29 to May 4 2016) gives a first glimpse of the Touareg's successor.
A top-class SUV
First images of the plain "Beijing concept car" called car show in the style of the Tiguan a front fascia. VW itself speaks of one of the "most advanced upper class SUV of the world". Size, the study should be slightly longer than the current Touareg with its 4.80 meters, but not as long as the SUV, which VW designed plans for the United States.
Drive via plug-in hybrid
What makes VW still look through? There is talk of a digital display and operating concept, where the "active info display" and merge the Infotainment System. It is more specific in the drive: here is a plug-in hybrid with 280 system performance kW (equal to 381 HP) and 700 nm system torque. The electric range to the NEDC consumption less than three litres is up to 50 kilometres. In six seconds, accelerating the car to 100 and is up to 224 km/h fast. The production version of the next Touareg will have of course conventional drives in the portfolio. We expect their premiere in April 2017 at the latest, also in China. (rh)
