Get used to it: the teaser - and lekkermaakcampagne around the Skoda Range is in full swing. In this second part we get spionagebeelden of the car to see, although the simultaneously released specifications actually more interesting.
That last is because our leader spionagebeelden previously with a similar camouflaged Range on the came up, all we thought then that the car is once again Rapid Spaceback to be called. When the message about the name change gave Skoda all details free and in the form of the Paris-shown Vision RS, there is already a concept-harbinger. Now is the time for the real work, but still with a lot of sticky plastic. The Range seems to be, despite his slightly larger size to remain true to the body style of the Rapid Spaceback, which by its third side window, a kind of mix between a hatchback and a station wagon.
A fairly high roofline and ditto window to make the body not more dynamic, but promise to do a lot of good for the interior space and clarity. Skoda has let us know that the Range 4.362 mm long, 1.793 mm wide and 1.471 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2.649 mm. The Rapid Spaceback is 4.304 mm long, 1.706 mm wide and 1.459 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2.602 mm, so the car is growing on all sides. The Range with 467 litres of also a larger luggage compartment than the Spaceback, which is 415 litres can meezeulen under the screen cover. With the bank flat can 1.410 liters.
Then the motorenlijst. Skoda promises to be three gasoline engines, one diesel and a source of power on natural gas (cng). The base engine is a 1.0 TSI with 95-horsepower, linked to a manual vijfbak. The 1.0 is also available with 115 hp and gets than a gear, while a seven-speed DSG-automatic transmission belongs to the possibilities. The provisional fastest version gets a 1.5 TSI with 150 hp. Those who prefer a diesel, it will soon draw for the 1.6 TDI with 115 hp. As an alternative there is the 1.0 G-TEC, a three-cylinder fuelled with natural gas and 90 horsepower on the leg. A manual zesbak is the only option.
