Skoda Fabia on cut - apprentices

Mladá Boleslav ( Czech Republic ), April 30, 2015

If automakers are planning an April Fools joke (recall to the Wild Bird BMW M3 Pick-up single piece of 2011) or generally seek increased attention, then the handle to the saw is an effective means. The thought probably Skoda and now had a team of 23 apprentices from the Skoda Academy on a three-door Fabia lend a hand. The result is the study Funstar, a kind Fabia pick-up, which will debut at the GTI meet at the Wörthersee ( 13 to 16 May 2015).

1.2-liter TSI must reach

The cut Fabia rolls on 18 - inch wheels of the Skoda Octavia RS and is powered by a 1.2-liter TSI with 122 PS. The switching work is performed by a seven-speed DSG. Apparently the Skoda trainees wanted to initially install a 1.8-liter TSI, but the bigger generator did not fit under the small pick-up hood. Interior sets the Funstar with flattened steering wheel and grippy seats completely on athleticism. There is also a touch-screen infotainment system that will be compatible with all smartphones. A homage to the GTI meet the 1,400 - watt sound system, including 200 - watt subwoofer.

A little tuning charm should not be missed

The tuning theme is externally added with green LED daytime running lights and a green underbody lighting. For the transformation to Pick up the side panels had strengthened and the B - pillar to be widened. The loading platform consists of stainless steel. Already last year was Skoda his trainees to a project for the GTI meeting. According to the Czechs the former result called Citijet was a great success. Should the Funstar of similar success to be crowned, Skoda will let his apprentices screws again next year . ( sw )
