Regardless of the fact that 718 Boxster and Cayman are great cars, Porsche for the replacement of six-cylinder vacuum cleaner to get to the four-cylinder Turbo properly on the cap. ? Maybe. Speed is not determined, rather the lack of character and sound. Whether this is now the new 718 Cayman/Boxster is better?
Experienced Porschonauten know: Where GTS, Porsche is usually the best package in it. The finest Performance parts from the series-shelf, but much cheaper and more practical for everyday use than the radical GT-models. Now the Alarm is in the unloved 718er-twins GTS. As you were probably thinking, it's going to stay here for four pots. The 2.5-Liter Boxer brings it thanks to a newly developed intake tract and an optimized Turbos now at 365 HP and 430 Newton meters. The performance plus of 15 HP and ten Newton meters more modest, however, the GTS models never really to house large force jumps.
Porsche refers rather to the fact that the 718er-GTS-models-35 HP better in the feed than the old GTS with B6-a naturally aspirated engine. These were, at least until you get nasty with the Cayman GT4 completely pretty much the best of what you can expect from a mid-engine sports. Significantly faster the new 718er-GTS-Twins, but still. Regardless of whether you opt for the six speed manual transmission or the optional seven-speed PDK. In the best case, i.e. with double clutch and Launch Control, the sprint, both the Roadster and the coupe is 4.1 seconds from 0-100 km/h, a tenth of a second faster than the Boxster/Cayman S. The top speed is 290 km/h, five km/h above the S mark.
As mentioned, acceleration orgies in a GTS rather secondary. It's about the driving feel, Handling. Therefore, the Boxster and Cayman GTS get the adaptive PASM chassis with Ten-Millimeter-lower ride height, Porsche's Sport Chrono package (driving modes and a fancy clock on the center console) and the Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical rear differential lock. And thus, the performance-oriented customer differentiated in all of the dynamic driving madness also visually, there are the usual GTS-Makeover with neater ends of the aprons, and more Black lights, wheels (20-inch) and all sorts of lettering to be regarded. The tailpipes of the new sports exhaust system are also black. Whether it dismisses, therefore, more attractive sounds, we have to wait and see. Inside there are electrically adjustable sports seats and a heavily increased Alcantara-share. Also: Porsche's crazy good Track Precision App that can be wonderful in front of the friends. Or completely ridiculous, because the recorded tracks-data to expose every little deficit.
Prices? The Cayman GTS starts at 76.137 EUR, the Boxster GTS at 78.160 Euro. The extra cost of almost € 11,000, compared to the S models sounds scary, but the equipment of the addition is more than compensated. Available 718 Cayman and Boxster GTS are Porsche from now on.
