Over twelve centimeters longer than its predecessor

After the sedan and the wagon along with its all-terrain offroad created the Coupé of the new Mercedes E-class on the convertible starts now we have to wait probably until spring.

More smooth surfaces

The main difference from the old Coupé is the size of the vehicle: with 4.83 meters is the new about twelve centimeters longer. Even width (plus seven centimeters) and height (plus three centimeters) set to significantly. This benefits the passengers above all in the form of extra legroom, rear (plus seven centimeters). New design is that the line height of door handles falls away, and also the rear wheel arches are no longer issued. The two power domes on the front cover and the now rather large rear spoiler on the trunk edge emphasize the sportiness.

World premiere: welcome function back

The side Windows are frameless, and there is no B-pillar. As in the predecessor LED tail lights fail significantly slit-like as in the sedan. In conjunction with the LED-multibeam headlamps (known from the sedan), they welcome the driver for the first time: at the opening of the vehicle the LEDs go on gradually from the inside to the outside, completing it is vice versa.

Interior: New air-jet turbines look

The air jets are new in the Interior with their turbines look, also, the seats are sporty formed as in the sedan. Two bright wood trims are new. Unlike as in the sedan only the equipment offered with star at the grill, so Avantgarde and AMG line. The latter sets itself apart through other bumpers and side skirts and larger wheels. The dots in the "diamond Grill" are here chrome plated and inside there are black seats with gray contrast stitching, a standard "seat comfort package", as well as a leather sports steering wheel. Both trim levels can be combined with a night package (with details in polished black and tinted side Windows).

Four motors and three suspensions

The launch are a diesel and three gasoline of choice, all of which are known from the sedan. The diesel is the 220 d 194 PS strong version of the new 2.0 liter four cylinder. To get the E 200 with 184 HP, the E 300 with 245 HP, as well as the only six-cylinder of the E 400 4Matic with 333 HP. All four models are always equipped with nine-speed automatic the E 200, delivered in the sedan with manual transmission. More motors and 4Matic-Versionen to follow. Standard delivered the Coupé with a chassis that is 15 millimeters lower than in the sedan, and has an amplitude-dependent damping system it should be a vierflutige agility control suspension. An adjustable damping (dynamic body control) to the election, as well as the new multi-chambered air suspension with adjustable damping is available on request.

Real time traffic jam warning now cheaper

The infotainment system's new audio 20 GPS that stands out from the well-known audio 20 USB through a real time traffic jam warning. This function was previously reserved for the over 3,000 euro expensive comand online. Traffic free routes here appear as green lines. Nothing was to learn at Mercedes to prices and market launch. So far the price list at 43.554 euros (for the E 200 with 184 HP and manual) started, 1,400 euros more than the equivalent version of the old saloon cost.
