New look and technology for the off-road version

In Germany the best horse in the stable of the Skoda Octavia has almost 60,000 sold pieces per year. Therefore the Czechs blow the information about the lifted Octavia in smallest denomination currently also in the world. Now it is the Scout version.

Three engines and always all-wheel drive

Model based on the Octavia Combi receives the same new look as the other body styles. The ground clearance when the Scout is three centimeters larger compared to the Combi, the angle of the slope are more generous. Also, the look is "offroadmäßiger": front and back there is a silver Underride Protection. In addition to standard equipment is the bad way package with plastic cover for underbody parts and brake and fuel lines. All-wheel drive is the Scout series. Three engines are offered to the market launch: 1.8 TSI with 180 HP 2.0 TDI with 150 or 184 HP. The 150-Horsepower diesel can be ordered also with seven-speed DSG. The old Octavia Scout was there also with a 110 PS strong 1.6 TDI, which still will be submitted (in the 115-Horsepower variant).

Up to 9.2-inch display

A hill descent assist is optionally available, the "off-road"function. There's also with LED headlights, heated steering wheel and seats "Thermo-flux-function", which increases the air and vapor permeability. The lifted Octavia's new infotainment systems are available. The top device called Columbus offers a 9.2-inch monitor, a Wi-FI hotspot, and an LTE module. The automatic emergency call is eCall available option. Trailer manoeuvring Wizard include the new assistance systems and blind spot detect (warns of vehicles in the blind spot). The crew protect assist (when an impending accident closes Windows and sunroof and tightens the straps) is with the improved front including city emergency braking assist and pedestrian protection networks. Market launch of the new Octavia is like in the other versions of the Octavia Scout on 4th March 2017. Prices start at 32,110 euro. Assuming that this refers to the 2.0 TDI with 150 HP, around 3,400 euros more than the corresponding Octavia Combi costs 4 x 4 ambition. (sl)
