New compact SUV from Mitsubishi
Tokyo (Japan), 24 January 2017
There is the type of cars, where one thinks spontaneously: Ah, which still is there? About the Mitsubishi ASX, which last year in Germany about 10,500 copies were sold. Not unimportant size for the Japanese brand. The new ASX is presented likely to at the Geneva car show 2017 (March 9-19).
A few centimetres in addition
Mitsubishi itself puts out for the time being only a half-shady image and speaks of a "new compact SUV". But already the runtime of the current ASX, which has been on the market 2010, calls for a complete remake. Promised is a long wheelbase with short rear overhang. More grooves and corners in the sheet metal, as well as quite high arranged rear lights are already optically visible. There are also those who see the car as a complement to the ASX: accordingly the ASX will be built a few years further. From autumn 2017 follows the new compact SUV, which is only five centimeters longer than the ASX measuring 4.35 metres.
Get Turbo petrol engine?
Technology, Mitsubishi is still covered. So far, there is a petrol engine 117 HP, as well as two diesel with 114 and 150 HP in the ASX. It is not excluded that the petrol engine to turbo technology is provided to. Is certain however, that the new ASX in terms of assistance systems will be upgraded. Here, the Japanese showed in the autumn 2016 with the study eX concept, where we are headed: automated parking, a helper for the lane change, a dead angle detector and a system that reports the road surface on the all-wheel drive.
