Ford polished its entry-level model: The Ka+ gets to the Geneva motor show (8. to 18. March 2018) missed a comprehensive model of care. A new Active Version in the SUV-Look and, somewhat surprisingly, also a Diesel.
Close Proximity
Simplified you could say that the Ka+ will be, in a sense, "fiestaisiert". This is, after all, both vehicles are separate in the length of only ten centimeters. Price no worlds lie between Ka+ and Fiesta. Therefore, it enhances the smallest Ford is now, to avoid that customers switch to more modern Offerings from other brands.
Three instead of Four, and new Diesel
What's new? The gasoline still 70 and 85 HP from 1.2 liters of displacement, but are now Three instead of four cylinders. Is accompanied by an increase in the torque: 113 Newton meters (instead of 105) of the weaker Motor, 115 to 112 Newton meters at the 85-horsepower unit. Surprisingly, the introduction of a diesel engine: The 1.5-Liter engine with 95 horsepower and 215 Newton meters of torque comes from the Fiesta. For exhaust gas cleaning of the Euro-6 engine Ford makes. As before, there is only a manual five-speed transmission, for a better shifting of the reverse gear is synchronized now.
More comfort for Europe
Externally, the grille shifts a little higher, and a honeycomb gets shaped decor with a bit of chrome. At the same time, the headlights stretch deep into the flank. Our impression after viewing the images: The-lifted Ford Ka+ is reminiscent of the Mitsubishi Space Star. Under the sheet metal of the Ka+ a lot going on: So the front axle gets a special suspension frame, while the various suspension components have been retuned. At the same time, reinforced door seals and improved aerodynamics to reduce the noise in the interior.
Now with large screen
As standard, all of the Ka+ in the future, electric Windows front, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and a hill-start assistant. In terms of Extras, Ford upgrades: Available wizard for light and wipers, a heated front windshield, heated front seats and Parking beeper are in the back. Also, a push-button starter can be ordered. The Highlight of the revised interior, the optional Sync 3 entertainment system with voice control and 6.5-inch touch screen. A Navi is not included, but the Smartphone connection via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto allows the use of such Apps.
Rustic Small
Because we input from "Fiesta capitalized" Ford Ka+ languages: similar to the bigger brother of the Ka+, a Active variant. It features special bumpers with more unpainted plastic, with the addition of black wheel arch trims and roof rails. Convenient for the Board, stony town is a lift of 23 mm, and a more Active character as a special 15-inch-Alus and the optional paint finish in "Havana-brown-Metallic". Inside, there are accents of color, as well as standard all-weather floor mats. Important: With the 70-horsepower base engine, the "Active" is not available. Ordered the "new" Ka+ is expected to be March 2018, with prices starting as usual from 9,990 euros. What is the cost of Ka+ Active, is so far only known in the UK: There is 10.795 pounds, converted or about 12.230 Euro.(rh)
