Elegance influences of Baroque
Beijing, 25 April 2016
SUVs are currently very said, but the trend seems to be away from the more heavy-handed, pure SUVs and toward the crossover. Infiniti belongs in this area to the pioneers, already Infiniti FX launched in 2003 was a cross between a SUV and Coupé. Now shows the brand from Nissan at the Beijing motor show (Auto China 2016, 29 April to 4 may 2016) the study of QX sports inspiration.
QX50 successor?
The car should be the vision of a premium-midsize SUVs and provide guidance on design, layout and technology of future QX models. It could be to be the successor of the QX50 with 4.60 metres in length. It then actually hardly needed a QX40, since the QX30 is already 4.43 meters long. The wheelbase of the study now fails with lush 2.80 metres, the overhangs are accordingly short. The ground clearance is proud 23 centimeters and the car is 1.65 meters high.
Elegant, but with muscles
The design combined with muscle-like curves on the side as an elegant basic form, as the car could not decide whether it wants to impress by aesthetics or strength. The roofline falls considerably backwards, the D-pillar has the brand-typical shape of a waxing moon. Front, the car has the brand-typical BBQ. The headlights are sharper cut as in the QX30, as well as the rear lights. As with so many design studies also has new Infiniti after rear-facing cameras instead of mirrors. A step on the skirts will help when boarding.
Futuristic cockpit
The cockpit looks more futuristic. Flowing forms, as well as black and White Leather dominate. A high center console separating the driver and front passenger, which take place on sporty-looking seats. The design is driver-oriented. The steering wheel is flattened below, behind it you can see a display of the instrument. Above, an another monitor in the design of a Tablet is positioned on the dashboard between the two front-seat occupants. In the rear two seats have three optional. The inmates spanning a panoramic tinted Windows. To the engine, the drive and the chances for a series model Infiniti says nothing. (sl)
