After sharp Spaniard

The current Seat Leon has evolved since its introduction in 2012 to the best-selling vehicle of brand. Now, some four years later, the Spaniards have bought compact a facelift. Gently but effectively, so one could summarize the makeover.

Optical finishing touches

At the appearance of the Leon, only marginal changes have been made. Sharper lines front and rear and a front grille that stretched to four centimetres should let the car appear bigger. Also, turn signals, tail lights, front and fog lights in LED technology are carried out. Inside a newly developed eight-inch screen was installed the noise increased and, in addition, which will eliminate many knobs and buttons.

New assistance systems

With regard to the assistance of Leon with the facelift starting immediately, the technique of the seat SUVs Ateca takes over. There is a traffic jam Assistant up to 60 km/h, a proximity, a city emergency brake assist and a traffic sign recognition. The infotainment system has also been revised and offers among other things a so-called "connectivity" box for Wireless charging of smartphones in the center console.

Five facilities

The facelift and Leon comes in five different outfits at the start. In addition to the already known versions of "Leon", "Reference", "Style" and "FR" is there the "Xcellence" now. It is equipped with a very comfortable upholstery and modern decorative elements in the Interior, as well as with new bumpers and chrome elements outside. A sixth version, the sport model "Cupra" will follow in the near future.

86 to 184 HP

It remains motor side strong diesel aggregates and 86 to 180 PS strong petrol engines at 115 to 184 HP. The 1.4 liter gas engine with 110 HP, which can be operated with gas or petrol is new.

From beginning of 2017

The revised Seat Leon is available from end of 2016 and will roll early 2017 to the dealers. Prices are not yet known. The cheapest Leon was previously 14.990 euro for the peppy-SC with 1.2-litre TSI and 86 PS.(MF)
