Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC

Presented in the 1981 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC coupe was the top model of Mercedes-Benz passenger car model range (W126) in its presentation. Mercedes-Benz W126 - a series of flagship cars of the German brand Mercedes-Benz. Presented in 1979 as a replacement for the earlier W116 model, the W126 became the second generation of the flagship Mercedes-Benz cars, officially bearing the name S-Class, that is, Sonderklasse ("Special Class"). Originally, the W126 was offered as a sedan with inline 6-cylinder engines, V8 and turbo-diesel engines. In September 1981, a coupe version with a two-door body, Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC, was introduced. The car was equipped with airbag, belt pretensioners, system stability and many other technical solutions. The Mercedes-Benz W126 series was produced for 12 years. This is the longest life of the S-Class models for the German brand. In total, over 890,000 vehicles were sold during the years of production. Of these, 818 105 sedans and 74 060 coupe. This fact makes this model the most successful among all existing representatives of the S-Class.
