We know for sure what Max Verstappen is not going to miss on Honda
Ford will do this much better ...
You have the first Dutch F1 world champion ever who drives your motorcycle and the sport has never been so popular in our country. So what do you do as Honda Netherlands? Nothing. Even local dealers made even more use of the fame of Verstappen by selling its old AMG. Jumbo also saw the potential of marketing cannon Max Verstappen and had him delivered groceries.
It remains striking how little Honda does in the Netherlands with Verstappen, but perhaps that is better, if we see the video below. Yes, we are pretty sure that Verstappen will not miss the mandatory numbers of Honda. You hear in the voice of Verstappen that he is reading the text with fresh reluctance of a piece of paper.
Perhaps if the Japanese brand had made somewhat more relevant commercials about driving pleasure or something to win, but this dull story about how "times and people" change, has zero interface with Verstappen. Or the F1. Even worse is that an advertising agency has probably captured big money for coming up with and implementing this idea. It is all quite embarrassing.
Ford understands the game better
Fortunately, Honda's engine is performing fine, but in the field of marketing and PR the switch to Ford will feel like a redemption for Verstappen. The American brand just understands the whole game a lot better than Honda. Because at Ford, Verstappen is allowed to drive a van with 000 hp. They may not sell that bus, but at least the Ford brand is well loaded.
At Honda, Verstappen has to promote an electric crossover with a meaningless story about progress. Oh, and he does that near a go -kart track. "Things don't stay the same for long, but I can't wait where it brings us," Verstappen concludes in the commercial. We know for sure that in his mind he said something like "hopefully soon in my private jet back to Monaco."
