VW presented the Golf GTI Club Sport

For two decades, there is every five years, a special model of the Golf GTI, to celebrate his birthday. Now it is time again: The GTI is 40 and VW gives us the GTI Club Sport with more power and rennsportmäßigerem appearance. Presented is the anniversary model for the first time at the IAA ( 17 to 27 September 2015) in Frankfurt.

More power and more consumption

Under the hood lies the same two-liter turbo as in normal GTI. But the Club Sport he does instead of 230 now 265 hp, which corresponds to a performance increase of 35 hp. About a kickdown of the accelerator pedal can be accessed at 290 hp for ten seconds even a boost. With the standard six-speed manual gearbox the Clubsport manages the sprint from zero to one hundred in 6.0 seconds ?? the normal GTI needs for 6.5 seconds. With the optional DSG instead of the value at 6.4 is now 5.9 seconds. The consumption increases it by 0.9 liters from 6.0 to 6.9 liters for the manual switch and from 5.8 to 6.7 liters in the version with DSG.

Alcantara bucket seats and

In the cockpit of the Clubsport the standard sports seats new racing folding bucket seats had to give way, which are partly covered with Alcantara, or on the backrests and seat surfaces with a honeycomb pattern. In the backrest also the GTI lettering is embroidered. The belts were spiced up with a red line slightly. These can also be found as the center mark on the Alcantara steering wheel and as a border on the floor mats. Also provided with Alcantara is the shift of the Gulf.

Golf with its racing roots

Especially at the exterior of the GTI has the ClubSport done a lot. It starts with a painting in " Oryx White " (other colors are available as an option ) and a black roof. A new front bumper, side skirts and a new rear bumper new velvet gloss black diffuser complete the picture on the body side. On the roof sits a new, multi-part spoiler, which is taller and wider than the one you find on a normal GTI. Under the wings is found either as standard 18-inch forged wheels with a new design or optional newly developed 19-inch model with the sonorous name " Brescia ".
