In January 2015, Ford showed the third generation of the legendary GT for the first time. Now almost two years and a very elaborate application purchase program later roll the first copies of the super sports car from the production. We have pictures and information about this historic moment.
600 HP from a 3.5-liter V6, with active aerodynamics with a carbon body design and optics to your knees, this is the new Ford GT. After the presentation in January 2015 at the auto show in Detroit, potential customers Ford literally ran the place. But only, who could go through a time-consuming application program, was allowed to enter into the order list of the new GT. Prominent customers include among others the US host and car collector Jay Leno or the Scottish singer Amy McDonald.
Now, almost two years after the unveiling in Detroit, let it not take Ford Chief developer Raj Nair, himself from the production to drive the first completed GT. The Supersport in a purpose-built factory in the U.S. Markham are produced. "When we started in the year 2016, we had two goals with the GT: A success at the 24-hour race at Le Mans and the first deliveries before the end of the year to create."
