Karoq and Kodiaq: so Far, Skoda has only two SUVs in the program. The third model also bears the letter "q" on the circuit, and means Kamiq. Will be presented the vehicle at the Auto China in Beijing (29. April to 4. May 2018).

About as long as a Skoda Karoq

After Skoda recently had sketches published, the first images and data. The Kamiq offers a Surprise. We had expected a small SUV below the Karoq with a length of 4.14 meters, so a sister model to the Seat of Arona. However, the Kamiq is 4.390 mm, not shorter, but eight millimetres longer than the German Karoq. The width is slightly less, the height is slightly larger. Also, the wheelbase (2.610 mm) is not even three inches shorter. In terms of wheelbase, the Kamiq is identical with the Chinese VW sedan Lavida, which gives off apparently the platform. In any case, the Kamiq fits better in the Chinese than in the German product range, because in the realm of the mid-Karoq measures 4.432 mm, is so much longer than us. The now presented model is likely to remain restricted to China, and not to come to us. Europe is likely to get the expected Arona-Equivalent, but are also called Kamiq.

A new variant of the 1.5 TSI?

It is powered by a 1.5-Liter gasoline engine comes with 110 HP and 150 Newton-meters, in combination with an automatic transmission. This could be a new entry-level variant of the 1.5 TSI. The Design is strongly reminiscent of the Karoq, but has a slightly higher headlights and a larger Grill. Also, the more prominent tornado line (something about the door handles). In the wheel arches, 17-inch alloy wheels to rotate with five double spokes. From the interior, there are still no pictures. It is a high-mounted 8.0-inch infotainment display in the center of the dashboard. Add to this bar over the entire cockpit width over the course of the end of chrome. The seat covers have a checkered pattern with 3D-effect.

Chinese Voice Control

The young urban buyer, to which the Kamiq, demand any amount of connectivity, Skoda. Therefore, the Kamiq provides, among other things, a voice control by the Chinese specialists, iFlytek. The Software understands regional Chinese dialects, and automatically learns individual or local peculiarities. Via the interfaces, Apple CarPlay, Baidu Carlife and MirrorLink smartphone integration. In addition, the car offers a guide for the number plate-based driving restrictions, real-time traffic information, weather information, and notifications about interesting places.
