GT3 again as a manual switch

The Porsche GT3 Gets a face lift and is available for the first time since 2011 again as a hand switch. But in addition to this great news yet a lot has happened more in the GT3. We have all the information about the update that will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2017 (March 9-19).

High speed core

It is particularly proud at Porsche on the new engine of the GT3 being almost completely unchanged from the racing version of the GT3 Cup. Four liters of displacement are good for whopping 500 HP. Thus, the GT3 is performance at a level with 911R and GT3 RS. Compared to the RS is striking that the GT3 motor can turn 750 revolutions per minute more sound concert included. The suction motor is linked either to an advanced seven-speed PDK with faster switching times or to a ten kilos lighter manual six-speed box from the 911R. It comes in 3.4 seconds to 100 in 3.9 seconds with the PDK. Also the locking differentials are different. In the PDK gearbox, an active version is installed while in the manual transmission a classical mechanical is used.

Optical input and output

The 1,430 kilograms athletes has changed externally only slightly. On the front, a new lighter apron ensures a better Aero balance. At the rear, there is a larger spoiler, and a redesigned diffuser next to the facelift rear lights. Together, these elements produce output as much as a few years ago yet the GT3-RS model of Porsche 997 is quite impressive. The chassis is S. 25 mm lower than at the Carrera

Market launch and price

Inside, little has changed. A new steering wheel, which originates from the Porsche 918, analogous to the facelift of the normal 911 there's a new Infotainment system and a new seat pattern. Market launch of the new GT3 is mid June 2017. The price starts at 152.416 euros. (mf)
