Frankfurt, 1. March 2018
Fans of the brand Alfa Romeo may at the Geneva auto salon 2018 (8. to 18. March) about two very special treat to look forward to. Before you freak out now: no, there is no new super athletes, and also no re-birth of the Spider. What there are, are two very handsome Quadrifoglio-special models (Giulia and Stelvio, as you might think), wrapped in a desirable Matt grey.
Records and birthday
Alfa has missed the meaning-Laden name of "NRING" celebrating mainly themselves. The successes that have been achieved in both those sports models on the Nordschleife, to be exact. And because it is acclaimed to also 108 years of Alfa Romeo. An anniversary for the ages, sort of. At least it is the reason for this is that both the Giulia Quadrifoglio NRING as well as the Stelvio Quadrifoglio NRING are only built 108 times.
More Carbon and equipment
From the outside, you recognize the special Quadrifoglios of standard Carbon-ceramic brakes and a bunch of carbon fiber Mirrors and side sills. In addition, there are several Carbon - and NRING plaques, tinted glass, and in the case of the Giulia a roof made of carbon fibre. The cool painting in "Grigio Circuito", which remains exclusive to the NRING Edition is reserved for it, but sure. In the interior of the two anniversaries, they are seats from Sparco-carbon shell, a leather-Alcantara steering Wheel and a Mopar shift knob to receive. Also the floor mats are custom-made to the FCA-house tuner Mopar. The full equipment is the large 8.8-inch infotainment system with Apple Carplay/Android Auto, as well as a Hi-Fi system from Harman Kardon.
Mechanically unchanged
Mechanically, both NRING-Quadrifoglios remain unchanged. Also, you can look forward. Finally, both come with the wonderful 2.9-Liter twin-turbo V6 that spits out 510 HP and very much beautiful sound. The Giulia makes 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and manages to 307 km/h top speed, the Stelvio is pumping even in 3.8 seconds to 100 things and 283 km/h runs at least fast. And in order to get a sense of why Alfa versions to hang up this Nürburgring: first, because of the rich history that connects the brand with the Green hell. And on the other, because both the Giulia and the Stelvio were here last very, very fast. The Giulia Quadrifoglio walked around the 20.8 km in 7:32 minutes, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio in 7:51 minutes. Until they are replaced by the Jaguar XE Project 8 a few weeks ago, the Giulia held the ring record for sedans. The Stelvio is still the fastest SUV on the loop.
Special models are also available from 4C
In addition to the two dangerous-looking Quadrifoglios Alfa shows in Geneva, a whole bunch of other special models, including two new variants of the 4C. The Competizione Coupé and the Italia Spider get special paint jobs, more Carbon and additional equipment, such as a Akrapovic exhaust system. Here, too, is closing after 108 copies. Furthermore, there are sportier and more luxurious-equipped variants of the Giulia Veloce (now also known as "Ti") and the Stelvio.(sw)
