Ferrari F 12 Tdf: More steam for the slopes
Maranello, 13 October 2015
By strictly limited to 799 copies F12tdf Ferrari wants to remind us of the Tour de France Automobile, one from 1899 to 1986 discharged endurance races. Especially proud you are in Maranello to the 250 GT Berlinetta of 1956, who won four times in a row. The F12tdf ( the small letters stand for Tour de France ) is now to revive the special flair of the winning car again.
2.9 seconds from zero to hundred
The basis of the rabid F 12 forms the F12 Berlinetta Tdf whose V12 sucker is redone vigorously steam. After the cure he powert with 780 instead of 740 hp, maximum torque rises from 690 to an impressive 705 Newton meters at 6,750 revolutions. 80 percent of which are concerns even at 2,500 rpm. Is also changed the F1 dual-clutch transmission: Due to a decreased ratio spread the box turns down fixer high and even faster. And because we even " faster " are at: The F12tdf sprints in 2.9 seconds from zero to hundred in 7.9 seconds to 200 km / h, just over 340 km / h top speed. Since the series brother with 3.1 seconds, smooth 340 km / h can only look behind.
Powerful slimmed
Thanks to radical changes to the bodywork and equipment, the Edition model now has a dry weight of 1415 kg ?? the 110 kilos less than the F12berlinetta. However, the work on the skin should also hone the aerodynamics again. The new front spoiler not only looks martial, but has now got a new splitter at the bottom. The components of the so-called Aerobridge ?? which is an air tunnel that extends from the front hood edge to the rear on the ?? was reshaped in carbon. Even the rear spoiler had to go under the knife: It is now 60 millimeters longer and 30 millimeters. On the modified rear end comes a new diffuser is used, which has three active Flaps. Through all the modifications, the output has improved by 87 per cent, according to Ferrari ?? he now is 230 kg at 200 km / h. These are immense 107 kg more than the production model.
Co-steering rear axle
Wider tires ( 275er instead of 255mm ) on larger wheels on the front axle increase the lateral acceleration. Since this measure, however, also promotes the oversteering, the engineers have developed a co-steering rear axle. The system, which is used here for the first time in a Ferrari, calculated from steering angle, steering wheel movement and speed the optimum wheel angle for fast driven curves. That brings the Italians not only more agile around the corner, but also improves the directional stability at high speed.
Premiered on November 8, 2015
What will please the purists: Inside the F12tdf quite spartan furnished. The instrument surrounds and the door panels are made of carbon, the glove compartment had soft knee pads. That also here the Weight Watchers had the final say, show the materials: leather Instead there is Alcantara, the thin sports seating is upholstered in a technical fabric and in the footwell is found naked aluminum instead of a carpet. There remains the question of the price of the car. Which is answered by the manufacturer until November 8, 2015 when the car at the " finals Mondiali " the Ferrari Challenge at Mugello will be officially presented. A little clue: The F12berlinetta costs 268,400 euros. The F12tdf likely to be quite a bit more expensive . ( hd )
