BMW 850
The BMW 850 with the factory designation BMW 850 E31 came to market in 1989. The BMW 850i became one of the most popular cars of its time due to its unusual design, elegance, strength and innovative technology. Not everyone could afford the BMW 850 Coupé, the sporty car was still the most expensive car in the former model program of the Munich car manufacturer. Total sold only 30,000 copies of the BMW 8. The BMW 850 is one of the few cars that has an active rear, which keeps the vehicle even at high cornering speed perfectly on track. The BMW twelve-cylinder engine in the coupe offers strength and sophistication. The BMW 850 V12 engine produces 300 hp at 850i proud of 5.0 liters and has a maximum torque of 450 Nm at 4,100 rpm / min. The other BMW 850 data are impressive: the sprint to 100 km / h takes only 6.8 seconds and the top speed is electronically governed at 250 km / h, while the BMW 850-consumption stays within. In 1992, we expanded the BMW 8-Series to the BMW 850 CSi, whose twelve-cylinder engine produces 380 hp gigantic. The strongest of all 8-BMWs were offered exclusively with a manual six-speed gearbox. With the introduction of the current BMW 840Ci BMW 850i received the new model name 850Ci. The V12 engine was enlarged to 5.4 liters and increased the power to 326 hp. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is shortened to 6.3 seconds. Also, the tuning company Alpina was based on the 850i and 850 CSi to produce some strong special models themselves. The Alpina B12 is thus nothing more than a stronger BMW 850 Alpina. Already in the late eighties, it hinted at the first BMW 850 pictures: the BMW 850 Sport Coupe has the stuff to become a sought-after classic with added value.
