Fresh slices of the SUV-sausage
Mladá Boleslav (Czech Republic), 10 August 2016
Are you annoyed by the salami-slicing, which follow some manufacturers at the launch of new models? You should not. Because no one eats a salami as a whole, in one fell swoop. Therefore, Skoda serves a few slices of fresh again by his salami, which in this case means Kodiaq: new detailed photos show what looks like the SUV at some more or less decisive points.
Mainly much Interior and trunk
The Kodiaq is based as the seat Ateca and the VW Tiguan on the modular transverse box. With stately 4.70 metres in length, it is the largest compact SUV of the VW Group. Accordingly much space is in the Interior. So there's the Skoda except as a five-seater with seven seats. The second-row seat is longitudinally movable as in the VW Tiguan. The trunk contains 720 to 2,065 l record in this segment, a Nissan X-trail for example creates only 550 to 1.982 litres. The optionally available front passenger seat with folding backrest aboard, is fit items up to 2.90 m length in the car. The look is characterized by a wide, but little high grille with vertical double bars. There are slit-like headlights, which are available with LED technology. Sideways striking the edge of the door handles and rear dominating straight line.
Five motors
Five engines are available: the two 2.0 TDI afford 150 and 190 HP, across the TSI 1.4 TSI with 125 HP or 150 HP, as well as a 180 PS of strong 2.0 TSI with Atkinson combustion processes. All-wheel drive and twin-clutch gearbox there's optional, as well as adaptive dampers. Important for any Skoda are also the "simply smart"-solutions. In the Kodiaq there are automatically drop-down door edge protection strips, a heated windscreen and "sleeping head rest" in addition to the mandatory ice scraper under the tank flap in the rear.
Area view, trailer Wizard and connectivity
Area view, a system that generates views for the maneuver from the images of ambient cameras in the front and rear, as well as in the exterior mirror housings are among the available driver assistance systems. Among them is a virtual top-down and 180-degree pictures from different perspectives. Also a trailer Assistant that reverse the Steering at slower and takes over braking helps when maneuvering.
From 25,000 euros
The manufacturer also on the mobile online services of Skoda connect is proud. These are divided into two categories: 'Infotainment Online' brings additional information and real-time traffic information, while 'Care Connect' uses an automatic e-call including after an accident. Prices for the Kodiaq should start at 25,000 euros, market launch is early 2017. And if you want to finally know what the production model looks, then we can do three things: firstly, anticipation is the best joy, second the world premiere will take place on 1 September 2016 in Berlin and thirdly, the car actually looks like the study by the Geneva Motor Show 2016.(sl)
