Modern car interior screens and touch screens have become indispensable spaces. However, if you are on two wheels on the road, you need to do often with very rudimentary display concepts. Multi-line Displays are the exception and you will be more likely to meet the classic round instruments. At BMW Motorrad, this will change in the future. As the manufacturer on the occasion of BMW Motorrad Days in 2017 (7. and 8. July) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen announced, is to be offered starting in the fall of 2017, a new special equipment called "Connectivity".
Classic View and new features
Behind the "Connectivity" hides a 6.5-inch full-color TFT Display that can control the driver over a more developed Multi-Controller. The System combines classical information such as a speed or speed with brand new technologies. So you can call for example while driving or listen to music if your Smartphone is paired with the motorcycle and the helmet for a communication system is installed. On the Display you will see then, for example, incoming calls, the contact list of your phone or the previous, subsequent, and current music track.
From the autumn of 2017 for the two models
Also new: The free motorcycle BMW Connected App, the arrow navigation is reflected on the TFT screen. With the phone program is not only the way, also driven routes can be recorded, or driving statistics collected. The market introduction of the new equipment is planned for the time being with the R1200 GS and the R1200 GS Adventure. Further models are to follow.(ml)
