Since the middle of 2016, the current Porsche Boxster and Cayman on the market and both are wearing since the nameplate with the number 718. The special feature of the new models: they have no six-cylinder, but they are powered either by a 2.0-Liter four-cylinder boxer engine or a turbo-charged 2.5-Liter engine. The service ranges from the normal model with 300 HP, on the S with 350 HP, up to a GTS with 365 HP. Now, our spy photographers have driven a further model in front of the lens, that next year the market is expected to come in and the range extended upwards ... the new Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder.
Look under the camouflage
How do we get it? A Similarity to the Standard-718 is not to be dismissed out of Hand, but the body looks a little slimmer, the grille was modified and the wheel arches sport turn more wheels. The most meaningful Spyder distinguishing characteristics are the depth and spartani scissors features a Speedster-style, the large diffuser at the rear, as well as the hump behind the Seats.
Engine, Debut, Price
Since the last Spyder was already 375 HP (still with a 3.8-Liter six-cylinder Boxer engine non-turbocharged), is expected to be the new edition with around 400 HP. Whether Porsche for the 2.5-Liter takes the aggregate and with a few changes in its performance after driving up, or whether, instead, a flat Six in planning, remains to be seen. In transmission, we expect at least a six-speed manual transmission. With the debut of the car, we expect the beginning of 2018. At the price Porsche could be based on the last Spyder.
