As a tribute to the Corvette Racing C7.R, the racing version of the current Corvette generation, Chevrolet has now presented a limited edition of 500 copies special model called the Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition. The special edition will be available only in " Corvette Racing Yellow " or in black and includes the Z07 Performance Package with Brembo ceramic brakes, adjustable aerodynamic parts and Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 tires.
Much yellow, much carbon
In addition, the race-special model has a bunch of carbon to spoilers, the hood and in the interior, Alcantara on the seats, steering wheel and shift knob, yellow contrast stitching in the complete interior and of course a fancy sticker with the serial number. These Chevrolet granted even a special protective sheath in C7.R design.
Stronger than the race car
The current racing Corvette C7.R based first not on the normal model, but on the Z06. The team that takes care of the race car was also involved in the development of the road model. Interestingly, the Z06 is substantially stronger than the C7.R. In a road car 6.2 liter supercharged V8 comes with 659 hp for use, the race car is due to the regulations with a 500-hp 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 go. The Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition will hit the market in the course of 2015. Prices do not call nor the Americans. The Z06 starts in Germany at 99,500 euros. Whether the special edition will be available in Europe, is unclear . ( sw )
