With the Alfa Romeo Alfetta 1972 created a successful hatchback sedan that has seen setting up their production in 1984 sales of over 400,000 units. Already used in the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Berlina models four-cylinder engines with a displacement volume of 1.3 to 2.0 liters were used in the Alfa Romeo Alfetta re-used. Moreover, one has, as later decided also the Alfa 75, the transaxle design (flanged on the rear axle gearing). The Alfa Romeo sedan was soon made a coupe version of the page. Especially the models Alfetta GT and Alfetta GTV 6 should attain cult status later and are still very popular among collectors.
