Suzuki LJ 80

Suzuki LJ 80 is an export version of Suzuki Jimny presented at 1977. Suzuki Jimny is a compact SUV manufactured by Suzuki since 1968. For the first time the name Jimny was introduced in 1970 by Suzuki to design compact SUVs that were originally produced under the brand LJ (Light Jeep. The name Jimni is made up of two words - "jeep" and "mini". The basic model for Suzuki was the development of the company Hope Star - model ON 360 model of 1967 with a two-stroke engine 21 h.p. by Mitsubishi and was four wheel drive. Production rights were purchased in late 1968 and in April 1970, the first all-wheel drive car from Suzuki - LJ10 Jimny or Brute IV - came off the assembly line. Compared with previous versions, in "Jimny 8 / LJ80" had improved interior, updated seats and steering wheel. Since 1979, the LJ81 has become available - a modification with an open luggage compartment (pickup truck), as well as metal doors. LJ80 was produced until 1981, when the second generation of Jimny was introduced.
