You can now ride the 24 hours of the Nürburgring in Assetto Corsa Competizione
Roast your weekend free
Ask your grandfather if you can borrow some of its incontinence diapers, take a load of energy drink and schedule a weekend off, because you can now ride the 24 hours of the Nürburgring in Assetto Corsa Competizione. The newest DLC adds the extra long 24-hour layout to the game, making one round almost 25 kilometers long.
The Nürburgring consists of two parts: the so-called "Grand-Prix Strecke" and the "Nordschleife". During the 24-hour race, the barricade between the two circuits is removed, creating one large circuit. If you drive laps for 24 hours with a GT3 car, then you have to be able to travel over 000 kilometers and more than 160 laps. In real life, drivers do not do this on their own.
More details in the new DLC from Assetto Corsa Competizione
Because the track is so long, there is really enough space around the circuit for parties and barbecues in real life. The makers of ACC have tried to imitate that atmosphere. The crowds around the circuit and the graffiti of the Rock Am Ring events have been included. In the night you see different lights from the tents around the circuit.
The only downside with the new update is that the changes on the circuit were not included. Last winter, certain Kerbstones were considerably raised, so you can cut the turns less. In the new 24 hours of the Nürburgring update there are still the old Lage Kerbs. Anyway, it doesn't matter much behind your PlayStation or Xbox if you would fly over it.
The new update is not free. Every 24 hours of the Nürburgring to be able to drive in Assetto Corsa Competizione, you have to patch 13 euros on Steam. Quite an amount for one circuit. It saves that the basic game there currently only costs 10 euros. On PlayStation and Xbox you still have to pay 40 euros for the basic game.
