With the new M3 CS, BMW is presenting the Equivalent of the M4 in CS, was launched in July 2017. The sporty special edition model is based on the M3 with the Competition package and with the normally optional seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Compared to this, the power was increased to 460 HP. In addition, the torque increased by 50 to 600 Newton meters. Overall, the M3 CS accelerates in 3.9 seconds to 100 kph at least 0.3 seconds faster than the base model. As for the normal M3 with Driver's Package the maximum speed is 280 km/h.
75 kilos of saved
In addition, the car has been through a number of carbon fiber parts (like the hood or roof) a lot easier. In comparison to the corresponding Version of the M3, it weighs 75 pounds less, namely 1.585 Kilo instead of 1,660 pounds. This not only increases the agility, but also lowers the center of gravity. Add to this a tear-off edge (called a Gurney) on the tailgate, increasing the contact pressure on the drive axle.
Semislicks or street tires
The suspension has been tuned compared to the M3 Competition, the springs and the adaptive dampers. The car also gets bigger wheels: Front 19-inch rear, 20-inch wheels are equipped with race tracks and road-legal Semislicks of type Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2. Optionally, there is also a pure road tyre. In addition, a specially tuned exhaust system delivers a specific Sound.
Alcantara-leather interior and red start button
A further special feature of the edition model, a red Start-stop button. Otherwise, the designers have created interior with lots of Alcantara and two-tone leather in a sporty ambience. However, the driver does not have to compromise on amenities. An automatic air-conditioning is also on Board, as is a Harman-Kardon sound system and the "Professional"navigation system.
Limited to 1,200 pieces
The BMW M3 CS is from January 2018 that can be ordered, the production starts in March. The special model is limited according to BMW, due to production of around 1 200 units. The price is not yet revealed. But since the M4 CS is located at 116.900 euros and the normal M4 is 700 euros more expensive than the M3, is expected to cost the M3 CS for about 117.600 euros.(sl)
