Is expensive really better?

In wide parts of Germany seems the summer is not yet in sight, now is the right time to look after the correct tires for the coming summer. The society for technical supervision has tested now 14 summer tires 225/45 R 17 and determines whether you get always a better tire for more money.

14 from different manufacturers were used in the test: Continental SportContact 5, Goodyear Eagle F1, Dunlop sport Maxx RT2, Pirelli P zero, hawks Azensis FK510, Nokian zLine, Bridgestone Turanza T001, Michelin primacy 3, Hankook Ventus S1 evo2, Toyo Proxes T1 sport +, Yokohama advan sport, GT radial sport active, Linglon Greenmax and Westlake sports SA-37. The tires are in a price range from 210 up to 430 euros per set and tested in a BMW 1 series.

It makes sense, about twice that for a set of summer tires to spend? According to the GTÜ, Yes. Stay away from Chinese tires
