Honda joins General Motors and Cruise

Honda is investing over the next 12 years 2.75 billion dollars, about 2.4 billion euro, in General Motors and its Cruise department.

Two years ago, it was announced that General Motors, the start-up Cruise Automation had taken over. Cruise Automation, that as the Cruise independently within GM would begin to operate, is developing an autonomous car and is also working on a kit that allows existing cars to be autonomous. Honda now reports that the next 12 year to 2.75 billion u.s. dollars, converted approximately 2.4 billion euros, the project stops.

Honda and General Motors have been working together in the field of electric cars. At least, the two companies will together develop a neuwe-generation batteries for EVS. Also in the field of waterstoftechniek work the two companies are already working together. When the first autonomous car that Cruise developed is on the way appears, is not yet known.
