The legendary car designer Henrik Fisker has struck again: His company unveiled an electrically-powered four-door coupe. The spectacular Bolide is EMotion and on the electronics trade show CES (Consumer Electronics Show, 9. to 12. January 2018 in Las Vegas).
At the first glance, the door concept of the EMotion jumps into the eye: The car has not two, but four Gullwing doors, and the Mechanism is likely to be a world first. The doors can either be remotely via Smartphone or over the flush-mounted door handles open. The lightweight body of the sleek car, with short Overhangs, consists of Carbon and Alu. The details are otherwise still very fragmentary, but the electric range is lush: 640 kilometers are indicated. The top speed is 259 km/h. the car is Driven on all four 24-inch wheels. Autonomously drives the car, too: Not less than five Lidar Sensors enable Level 4. The Sensors are also start the germ cell of the design: Instead of using a antiquated Grill that started the Designer with the "eyes" of the EMotion.
The interior of the Fisker bought, depending on the desire, soft leather, or--for a vegan car fans--a solution without animal skins. The interior can be ordered in a Karamellton or a Black. In addition, there are three driver-oriented monitors, including a curved Display in the center. All four individual seats are electrically adjustable, optional in the rear, a rear bench with three seats, the car is five seater. The "chauffeur edition" is given to a 27-inch Display in the rear. Regardless of the EMotion Fisker shows at the CES a further Highlight. It is a self-developed and patented flexible solid-state battery. Chemistry Fisker makes no details, but mentions that one of the founders was involved in Sakti3 to develop, and the solid-state battery of this company are based on Lithium-ion technology (albeit with a solid electrolyte instead of a liquid). The energy density of the Fisker batteries should at least be two and a half Times as large as in the case of conventional Lithium-ion batteries. The technology allows, according to Fisker ranges of over 800 km, the charging time should be shorter than that of the conventional Refueling of gasoline. The serial production for cars will be reached "sometime after 2020", rechargeable batteries for Smartphones and similar devices to give it, but earlier perhaps even as early as 2018.
