Talbot Matra

With the purchase of Chrysler Europe (Simca) by the French PSA group and the car manufacturer Matra was taken. The vehicles jointly developed by Matra Simca were sold in 1979 under the brand Talbot-Matra. These include the models Rancho Bagheera and Murena. Talbot Matra Rancho was built from 1977 to 1984 and reminds of a van with off-road elements. A four wheel drive for the Rancho was never implemented for reasons of cost. Instead upgraded Talbot Matra the car with all kinds of accessories such as search lights, winch and impact protection. The Bagheera, a three-seater sports coupe, was the other extreme of the Talbot Matra model range. As the successor of the Matra Bagheera the M530 has been jointly developed by Matra Simca and built by 1977 until 1980. What makes the Bagheera are the three seats in a row. The Talbot Matra Murena came in 1980 as the successor of Bagheera on the market and was built until 1984. The top version of Matra Murena X was equipped with 115-hp 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine.
