Premiere on the Detroit Auto Show

The Toyota Camry is the best-selling car in the United States after the pickups Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado and Dodge Ram. Now there's a successor model, which for the first time 2017 is on the auto show NAIAS in Detroit (January 8 to 22) for the endurance.

Fresher appearance

The new Toyota Camry is flatter than its predecessor. Thanks to a lower roofline and a flatter hood, the emphasis falls which should benefit the driving dynamics. In conjunction with redesigned bumpers and a two-part radiator grille, the look of the Camry is considerably sportier than before.

New drives on new platform

Technically, the Camry is based on the new TNGA platform from Toyota. The wheelbase grows to about five centimeters. Drive side, there is a new 3.5-liter V6 and a 2.5 liter four-cylinder, which can be coupled with a hybrid system on request. Gears are an eight-speed automatic for the gasoline engine and CVT solution for the hybrid version of the choice. Also new is the double wishbone rear suspension. A modified engine mount is intended to minimize disturbing vibrations in the Interior.

Plenty of space in the Interior

The view from the cockpit of the new Camry is likely to benefit from a flatter dashboard. New front seats and a lower positioned rear bench in the rear promise more space and greater comfort. In addition, Toyota in the Camry fitted a new Infotainment system with head-up display, Smartphone-like operation and a music system from JBL. A Wi-FI hotspot, as well as the possibility to start the Camry with a remote control and check various parameters such as, for example, the tank level, complete the technical offer. There is also a wealth of assistance systems lane departure-Warner in the new Camry to assistants helping.

Market launch and price

The new Camry will come in the fall 2017 on the market. Prices, Toyota has been covered. For a predecessor Camry were converted and round regardless of possible taxes at least 22,600 euros due. (mf)
