Trabant P 1.1

Its market premiere experienced the Trabant P 1.1 of the automobile manufacturer VEB Sachsenring Zwickau automobile in 1990. Externally the P 1.1, the successor of the P601 differs only in minor details from its predecessor. He was, for example, new interior and exterior mirrors and larger tail lights. Strikingly, however, the technical innovations are: Under the hood of the Trabant P 1.1 is a license-built in water-cooled VW four-cylinder engine producing 40 hp, in addition, the Trabant has a newly developed four-speed gearbox, disc brakes on the front axle and a new steering gear.
